A graduate of Seattle's Video/Film Communications Program (97’),
Scott graduated as an award winning director, which put him on track for a career in visual expression. His thesis film, a documentary on Japanese Butoh Dance, was purchased and broadcast by KCTS, the Seattle PBS afilitate. After graduation, he worked in Seattle’s burgeoning independent film scene for several years, but the money was meager and the scripts usually, well, sucked.
He has since launched a professional career and over the past several years has worked on projects ranging from commercials, music videos, documentaries, and short films...most of which he single-handedly wrote, directed, shot and edited (Steven credits his Alaskan upbringing for instilling the D.I.Y. ethic).
Scott’s experience directing short films has led him towards feature-length projects. In 2003, he arrived in Los Angeles with two hundred dollars, a screenplay, and a phone number. Two years later, and with a budget of only five thousand dollars, he wrapped production on the trailer for the documentary "The Sequence ".
